High Throught Underwater LLDPE Film Pelletizing Line

INTRODUCTION: 

Underwater pelletizing is used for polymers that are difficult to process (e.g. sticky polymer). The melting emerges from the die plate and is knocked off by the pelletizing knives. The entire process takes place under water. In the centrifuge, the pellets are separated from the process water and dried.

CHARACTER OF PROCESSING:

• Compared with strand cutting granulating line, the underwater pelletizing can replace the water bath, air knife and pelletizer. It eliminates handling of molten polymer and the potential for broken strands to interfere with production.

• Because the die face contact directly with water, the under water pelletizing line will have higher throughput.

• By controlling the rotation speed of blades, the pellet size is changeable.

• From feeding to pellet exiting, the whole process is contained in one system.

• It possesses relative more complex structure and more precision requirements for the cutting and pelletizing system

ADVANTAGES OF THE PROCESS AND OPERATIONS:

• Tempered water system and dryer can be located away from extruder. More space saving than strand cutting granulating line.

• Preventing from the dropping strands or slow die holes interrupting the production.

• Minimal maintenance, only preventive maintenance needed.

• Less noise at high pelletizing speed
