APPLICATIONS
Single screw extruder is a kind of specialized equipment to process the material of polyolefin. Equipped with different die head, downstream equipment, it can be applied for manufacturing of pipe, panel, sheet, film, yarn and pellets, etc.
The single-screw extruder adopts double-step overall design to strengthen the plasticizing function and ensure high speed and high performance stable extrusion. The special barrier integrated mixing design guarantees the mixing effect of materials, high shear and low melting plasticizing temperature to maintain the high performance with low temperature and low pressure metering extrusion of materials. Generally a single screw extruder consists of the following items:
1. Single screw
It is an essential part of the complete plasticizing process. The screw rotates inside the barrel. The plastic powder is continuously pouring and compounding in the screw channel so as to achieve compaction, melting and mixing homogeneously. The screw is composed of different sections in order to achieve better transmission, compaction, mixing and plasticizing.
2. Barrel
The combination of barrel and screw is used for mixing and plasticizing the polymer. The plastic powder and screw is rubbing and plasticizing inside the barrel. The material of barrel is nitrated steel, after nitrating treatment. The inner surface of the barrel is equipped with high hardness, excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance layers. The outer surface of the barrel is equipped with groups of electric heaters which would transform heat through barrel to the polymer. By this way, it promotes the plasticizing of the mixture. In addition, each heater obtains the temperature measuring points so as to control the heating temperature of the barrel.
3. Drive system
The power of drive system is consistent with the extruder specification. And the drive motor depends on its concrete application. In order to provide a stable driving condition, it must maintain the screw rotating at a constant speed of torque, completing the plastic powder plasticizing and extruding. For meeting the needs of the PE, PPR products production, the machine adopts AC motor drive, through the elastic coupling and gear reducer drive, making the screw 3.5-50 running smoothly and in the speed regulation of r/min. The speed of the screw will be directly displayed on the control panel.
4.Frame
The frame is made of steel. And the screw channel is welding of steel structures. The heat conduction area of the materials and the shear velocity inside the barrel will promote the plasticizing of materials and make them melting under a much lower temperature. The body of feeder hopper is equipped with magnets which prevent iron and other waste falling in. The special design effectively protects the inside single screw and extend the service life. Adopting cast aluminum heating on the barrel can extend the service life and install conveniently.
