The pneumatic solenoid valve is generally divided into direct acting and pilot type. Let's talk about their respective principles.
First, direct action: the direct acting solenoid valve draws a core by the suction force after the solenoid is energized. The movement of the core will control the opening or closing state of a small hole, and the opening or closing state of the small hole can directly lead to the air inlet and the outlet being connected or isolated.
Because of the limitation of electromagnetic force, the diameter of small hole can not be done very much. Therefore, the flow rate of direct acting solenoid valve is generally very small.
Then, the pilot type solenoid valve is designed to realize the function of 2 or 3 position by moving one sliding core in the valve body to achieve different working conditions (cylinder push out or return) state. The movement of the slide core depends on the pilot gas acting on the two ends of the slide core to push the left and right movement of the slide core.
The flow of pilot type solenoid valves can be large.
