Vinylene Carbonate (VC) is mainly used as an Electrolyte Additive for lithium-ion battery. It is an important Film Forming Additive for lithium-ion battery. VC can form a thinner, denser and more robust Solid Electrolyte Interphase (SEI) film, which better protects the electrode surface and prevents further electrolyte consumption.Therefore, high purity Vinylene carbonate can improve several performance metrics for batteries including the cycling performance, high temperature performance and battery cycling life.
Vinylene Carbonate is mainly used in lithium iron phosphate batteries and ternary lithium batteries, and it is currently the Battery Electrolyte Additive with the largest usage.
The recommended amount of VC to be added is 1%~5%.
