I.Product Description

Adhesive type    

XCUR-5002 is a one-component, moisture-curing reactive Polyurethane-Hot melt. It is characterized by low coating temperature and faster curing speed,Good adhesion to various substrates,including PTFE membranes. Due to its good wetting properties, it can be used in most water-repellent fabrics.

 The following materials can be used for compounding:

- Breathable film

made of e.g. Polyurethane, polyester and polyamide, PTFE

- Film:

made of e.g. Polyester, pre-treated polyolefins

- Fabrics and nonwovens:

        made of e.g. Polyester, polyamide, cotton, cellulose and polyolefins.Hydrophobic substances on the surface of the fabric can affect the adhesion strength. Specific testing is necessary in any case.

Laminate properties          The completely cured and crosslinked adhesive film of XCUR-M5002 is age resistant and leads to a good bond strength, thermal and chemical resistance. The adhesive XCUR-M5002 contributes to a high durability of the laminates. 

Laundry                  According to the substrate and coating amount, it can be repeatedly washed between 30 °C - 60 °C.

Dry-cleaning:                    According to the substrate and coating amount, there can be a wide range of tolerance.

II. Instructions for Use

 Coating        XCUR-5001 can be applied with standard application systems suitable for polyurethane adhesives, As standard working temperature we recommend temperatures between 80 – 100 °C.The premelting unit should be protected against humidity in order to avoid precuring of the adhesive.

Melt-Stability     Should avoid excessive temperatures during shutdown ( > 130 °C). The viscosity will increase for several hours at high temperatures. We recommend melting the adhesive only on an immediate, continuous start-up. 

Curing  The curing time at 20 °C is 3 - 5 days at > 50% relative humidity depending on the water content of the substrates. Higher temperature will increase the curing speed.

Coating weight  The application weight ranges between 5-30 g/m² depending on the substrate and application.

Cleaning   Under suitable operating conditions, DMF, ethyl acetate, etc. can be used for cleaning.

III. Storage

Frost sensitive:                                        No

Recommended storage temperature:           5 - 25 °C

Shelf-life:                                               9 month in original packaging
