The Bowie Dick (Air removal) Test verifies that the prevacuum sterilizer effectively removes air removing the need for test packs to be constructed by staff. The test pack is placed directly into an otherwise empty autoclave chamber and does not require a retaining device. During the test cycle, steam must displace the air through the barrier material within the Bowie Dick Test Pack.
1. The BD test paper is printed with a vapor-sensitive indicator ink , should be placed in the center near the lamination material.
2. The vapor can pass through alamination with good air permeability during sterlzation to react with the indicatted inkon the BD test paper , so that the BD test paper From blue to black.
3. BD test paper on the pattern , under normal circumstances , the sterilizer at 132℃or134℃, run 3.5min utes , the pattern wil become uniform dark brown to black.
Notes
1. Test paper in the use of storage , forbidden with acid , alkaline material contact , avoid moisture ( relative humidity should be less than 50%), should be placed away from anti-ultraviolet fluorescent and sunlight.
2. If the cold air is not completely removed , the cold air in the bag wil afect the penetration of the steam so that the center
of the B-D test paper forms a light-colored area different from the surroundings to reflect the effect of the sterilizer on cold
air.
3. The test label on the outside of the testpackage is also printed with steam-sensitiveindicator ink , after steam sterilization from blue to black , indicating that the test package has been used.
4. Vand for 18 months from the date of manufacture.
