The sensitivity of the single layer CTP plate insert must be adapted to the light source or thermal energy of the plate making machine.
For silver halide plate imaging, 5mW UV diode is sufficient; Photopolymer plates require at least 30mW of energy. While some manufacturers install 60mW diodes in their CTP systems, Krause-Biagosch even uses 100mW, which greatly reduces imaging time and improves plate making efficiency.
Single Layer Ctp Plate Joiner imaging requires higher energy, requiring 1000mW infrared diode. Single Layer Ctp Plate Junction requires uv energy to image on BasysPrint's CTcP system and ESKO-Graphics' Espresso system. There are also printed versions that use argon ion lasers (488 nm) and frequent-doubling Nd:YAG lasers (532 nm) for imaging, but these lasers have mostly been replaced by UV diodes and are therefore not meaningful for new investment.
