Bluetec eta plus is produced using an air-to-air vacuum coatingprocess

The so-called magnetron sputtering is the method used forapplying the coating to the metal substrate

For the production of eta plus, the blue tec team has designedan air to air coating line for the continuous coating of metalbands

The magnetron sputter process employed by blue tec to apply thecoating to the metal substrate meets even the most stringentquality requirements

It generates no harmful exhaust gas or chemicals

The process is completely free of emissions

Only electrical energy is required: approximately 1 kWh perm² of surface

However, over 20 years, the absorber band eta plus producesmore than 10,000 kWh of solar energy and thus has an excellentenergy balance

The eta plus coating is a ceramic metal compound

This so called CERMET (ceramic metal compound) is comprised ofseveral single layers in which metal particles are embedded in aceramic matrix

The metal content of the eta plus coating system graduallydecreases towards the surface
